There are basically three types of yachts available for crewed yacht charters- Motor Yachts, Catamarans and Monohulls. In Part One, we’ll chat a bit about Motor Yachts.
A Motor Yacht Charter affords a lot of space and will get you to your destination faster. This really doesn’t matter too much in the BVI and USVI but would be more important in areas where the distance between anchorages is longer as in down island. Fuel is a factor so Motor Yacht charters are generally more expensive than a sailing yacht charter. The accommodations are usually large with house-size beds and some have Jacuzzis and other upscale amenities. There are fewer all-inclusive Motor Yachts than sailing yachts in the Caribbean so if you’re looking for a Motor Yacht for the most popular weeks of the year- Christmas and New Years- you really need to start your planning better than 6 months out.
Here’s the brochure of a fine of a Motor Yacht available for your private, crewed, all-inclusive yacht charter. This is a very family friendly yacht that also offers SCUBA diving as well as a Resort Course to introduce non-certified to the wonders under water.
