It’s Charter Yacht Show Season
As the weather starts to cool, we prepare for another exciting charter season in the US and British Virgin Islands. The first couple weeks of November are when the Virgin Islands Charter Yacht League (VICL) on St. Thomas, USVI and the Charter Yacht Society/ CharterPort on Tortola, BVI each put on a display of the finest privately crewed, term charter yachts in the Virgin Islands and some from down island.
This is my opportunity, as a Charter Yacht Broker, to meet new crews and catch up with those I’ve known for years and see, first hand, what the yachts look like after being “spiffed up” in the boatyard. It’s time for crews to dazzle and give brokers insight into what they have to offer their clients – YOU. That way you can be inspired as you look to Onboat and others like them for future yacht adventures!
This year, the St. Thomas Charter Yacht Show came first November 4-6 and was held at the fabulous Yacht Haven Grande Marina. There were about 40 yachts in the show, a nice mix of monohulls and catamarans. There was even a new power cat, Island Breeze, that was the buzz of the show.

The Tortola Charter Yacht Show was held at laid back Nanny Cay Resort and Marina in the British Virgin Islands from November 7-10. This is the larger of the two shows with about 70 yachts on display. This show is largely catamarans and there’s a huge amount of competition to be the “stand out” yacht. Winning the award for the Best Multihull over 56 feet was Avalon, a 62′ cata-maran that accommodates 8 guests with veteran crew Captain Alex and creative Chef Carla

Wining Best Multihull under 56 feet is the newcomer Pearl , a 50′ catamaran that accommodates 6 guests with Captain Tamas and Chef Sara on board to pamper you as much as you’d like.
